Laura Lading gave an interesting talk about her struggle with macular degeneration and her interesting work at the Penumbra Centre. Laura was a Volunteer in the bureau until the deterioration of her sight prevented her from continuing to work with us. She herself has now returned to painting as well as helping others with craft work at the centre. Laura showed a lovely photo album with some of the examples of this craft work.

The 42nd. Annual General Meeting of the Maroondah Citizens Advice Bureau was held on 7th. April 2010 and was well attended.
Among the guests were the Mayor Alex Makin (who is also a member of the new Committee).
Also present were Councillors Ann Fraser and Michael Macdonald and representatives of other local Emergency Relief organisations.
After a few words from the Mayor the Office bearers and Committee were duly elected.
Two Volunteers were presented with Life membership to note their many years of work with the Bureau.
Mr. Les Hutchinson, long time President of the Croydon Historical Society, then gave a delightful talk about his family and their early history in the Croydon area.
The meeting was followed by afternoon prepared by the Committee.
